This program imparts knowledge to high school students about the basics of computer sciences and Cybersecurity at Tandon School of Engineering, New York Universities. Its mission is to remove all the barriers that have historically reduced the representation of minorities and women in STEM subjects. 3. Annenberg Youth Academy (AYA) for Media and Civic Engagement

Event: June 19-July 14

Location: University of Southern California (USC)

Application deadline: March 31

This particular course offered by the Annenberg Youth Academy is four weeks long. The media and journalism courses offered for the students are offered for entry-level college students. The seats for this course are limited so only 26 students from the areas adjoining the University Of Southern California can get enrolled in the program. During the AYA, students learn public speaking skills, critical thinking, debate, writing, multimedia production, and interviewing and explore careers in media and journalism. Students also get a chance to learn more about USC and meet USC academics who advance issues of gender, race, and ethnicity in communications and journalism.

4. Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program

Event: Late June to early August

Position: Virtual

Application deadline: February 1

WHO Code Summer Immersion Program is available for all ages and girls from junior school as well as senior school can enroll in the course. The students of this summer school course and non-binary high school students can learn all the computer skills that are required to build a career in the technology industry. The students get a chance to meet the experts in technology. The most interesting thing about enrolling in the course is that you don’t need to have prior knowledge of computer science.
